ABOUT UNDERLAYS
Every type of floor covering, whether that is laminate, carpet, linoleum, vinyl, solid wood, engineered wood, ceramic tiles or natural stone tiles, demands its own, specific underlay. The increased variation in floor coverings available on the market today, combined with the increasing demands of both consumers and governments concerning thermal and noise insulation and the care for the environment, are constantly posing a challenge to our Research and Development department.
That is why our goal is to offer suitable solutions for every type of floor covering, which are able to meet all international standards and local regulations.
Besides this, Unifloor has a number of highly specialised subflooring systems that are suitable for renovation projects and new builds. One can think of products that can completely replace a standard liquid screed, thanks to which the running time of a project can be significantly decreased.
Laboratory tests with regards to the impact noise reducing qualities of all Unifloor products are carried out according to the latest standards and regulations, the NEN-BS-EN-ISO 140-8 / 717-2 (NPR 5079 and BRL 2003). This means that a complete test floor set-up (base floor, underlay and final floor covering) is at least 10 m2 in size. Then this complete floor is weighted with approximately 23 Kgs per m2, in order to accurately simulate a furnished room. Under these circumstances many underlays will perform considerably below the norm with regards to their noise reducing qualities.
New technological developments and innovations contribute to our “step by step” product improvement and development. Taking good care of the environment will always play a major role in this as well, which is why Unifloor is a FSC certified company (certificate nr SGS-COC-1068).
In short; Unifloor Underlay Systems offers you the right underlay for all desired applications!
